teaching english in spain
Wow, where to begin. The process of preparing documentation, filing for your visa, and jumping through the loops of the Spanish government might be comparable to stabbing out your eyeballs, but trust me it is worth it in the end. After God knows how many hours I spent ensuring I had every detail of my application filled out and then waiting for about 3 months to hear an answer, I was finally granted a visa to enter Spain. BUT that's not all. Once I got into Spain I had to file MORE paperwork to get my NIE card (Spanish residency). I am still waiting for that...
Anywho, besides all the mumbo-jumbo that comes with the process of being an American trying to work in the EU, it has been tremendously amazing living in Spain thus far. I am currently teaching in Bilbao--the Basque Country. The weather here has not been to my liking, but I think I can look past it when there are delicious pintxos and vino surrounding me. The program that I entered is through the Spanish government. It is aimed toward North Americans but I am almost certain that there is a program for British citizens as well. I have posted the links here for your disposal. Any questions please ask! |
- Another helpful site for you to see is one that was created by one of my favorite bloggers, Liz (creator of Young Adventuress). So check out her blog for A LOT of useful information that I used personally to decide what to do and where to go in Spain. You can find her detailed accounts for the Axuiliar de Conversación program on the highlighted link.
